CNCV February Membership Gathering and Potluck

  • Carmichael Park Community Clubhouse 5750 Grant Avenue Carmichael, CA, 95608 United States (map)

DATE: Saturday, February 27, 2027
WHEN: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
WHERE: Carmichael Park Community Clubhouse, 5750 Grant Ave, Carmichael

We invite you to join us for a membership gathering, potluck lunch, traditional food cook-off, and heirloom seed exchange. Our focus for this meeting is our heritage through heirloom seeds, traditional foods, family recipes, and storytelling.

Food and Cook-off: Be sure to check above for details on what you can contribute to the potluck. Consider bringing a dish that incorporates foods traditional to Cherokees, favorite family recipes, or a recipe from our very own CNCV-Marble City Cookbook! We’ll vote on our favorites and have prizes for the winners.

Children’s Activity: We will be making “seed bombs” with local wildflower seeds!

Seed Exchange: Bring seeds to share if you have them! We will have heirloom seeds to share that we’ve been growing for our community. It was a great harvest and we have many seeds, which belong to us as citizens. They are essential to our culture, foodways, and history. If you’re a gardener (and especially if you have not been able to get seeds from our Seed Bank), come visit with us, connect with other gardening enthusiasts, and leave with seeds. Our Board will continue growing to share our heirloom seeds with Cherokees in our community. And mark your calendars for when the Seed Bank opens this year. Applications will be found on your Gadugi Portal.
