Blast to the Past: Jerry Brackett’s Scroll Work
WADO, Nina Richmond!
At our February CNCV General meeting in Carmichael, Nina donated one of Jerry Brackett’s beautiful scroll works that she purchased from Jerry, to our CNCV drawing table. Nina is downsizing and wanted to share Jerry’s artwork along with a number of books with CNCV members. Jeremy Roberts was the lucky winner.
Jerry and Marie were long-time dedicated CNCV members, and were always chipping in and helping us. Jerry regularly donated his art works for our drawings. Jerry continued his art up until he was no longer able to create his beautiful work, which was very frustrating for Jerry.
I always enjoyed working with Jerry. He was a true “Cherokee Gentleman” in every way. We lost Jerry on May 10, 2019 and he was buried at Northern California Veterans Cemetery, overlooked by Mt. Shasta. Many of you know Jerry and Marie’s son Mark. The first four photos are one’s I took. The rest were sent to me by his daughter-in-law, Mark’s wife Rachelle Brackett. I know you will especially enjoy the photos from Jerry’s workshop.
