Celebrating Declan Gilmore, Eagle Scout

Deidre Fitzgerald invited Sabrina, Rob, Liz, and myself to attend and celebrate at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor on May 3. At this event, her youngest son Declan Gilmore was presented with his well-earned Eagle Scout Badge, along with three other Boy Scouts at Lakeside Church in Folsom. Deirdre's oldest son Aidan, who himself is an Eagle Scout, was in attendance as well.

Eagle Scout is the highest and final achievement for a Boy Scout. We are honored to have been in attendance celebrating Declan's well-deserved accomplishment. We wish him the best in life and know he will live a life full of accomplishments.

Musical Gorgets

After Declan Gilmore received his Eagle Scout Badge, we had another special moment in the lobby of the church. I presented them with the Gorgets I made from a trashed and corroded drum cymbal that had been hidden and wasting away in the barn. These were given to me by Ganel and Gerrit Fenenga, when they found I was making my Gorgets from scrap and recycled copper and brass.

I applied the uncirculated Seguoyah Coins on Declan's and Aidan's Gorgets. I attached a Gold Filigree Rosette on Deirdre's Gorget.

My special bond with Declan and Aidan is we are Trombonists and these after all are, Musical Gorgets.
