You-Pick, We-Pay: Farm-Fresh Produce for Cherokees!

On September 19, the CNCV put our Cherokee Nation Public Health and Wellness Grant funding to work!

CNCV members gathered to pick farm-fresh produce together at a local you-pick farm, Davis Ranch at Sloughhouse.

We had 11 Cherokee Nation citizen households participate in this inaugural. Collectively, we picked 450 lbs of produce, all paid for by CNCV thanks to grant funding.

Recently, the CNCV was honored with the Hunger Fighters award from Cherokee Nation, reflecting our dedication to supporting our community with emergency SNAP funding, food sovereignty and heirloom seed work, and serving up tasty and traditional food to our community at events. We are grateful to continue such important work through fun, new events like this one!
